What Second Chance is

Second Chance is a self-tracking and peer support tool for people working to overcome behavioral and substance addictions. It combines daily check-ins, a private journal, an AI-powered companion, and a moderated peer community.

Important: Second Chance is not a medical service, a therapy platform, or a licensed counseling service. The AI companion is a support tool — it is not a therapist, psychologist, or doctor, and nothing it says should be treated as medical or clinical advice. If you are in crisis or need professional help, please reach out to a qualified professional or visit findahelpline.com to find support in your country.

By creating an account and using Second Chance, you agree to these terms.

Your account

You must be at least 17 years old to use Second Chance. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at contact.solaceteam@gmail.com.

Community rules

Second Chance includes a peer community where users can share experiences, ask for support, and connect with others in recovery. By participating in the community you agree to the following rules:

  1. You will not share explicit descriptions of addictive behaviors, relapses, or content that could be triggering to others in recovery.
  2. You will not shame, judge, or demean other users.
  3. You will not give medical or clinical advice to other users.
  4. You will not promote any product, service, app, or external platform.
  5. You will not post spam, off-topic content, or anything unrelated to recovery and support.

Violations of these rules may result in your posts being removed, your account being suspended, or your account being permanently terminated at our discretion.

To report content that violates these rules, use the report button available on every post and reply inside the app.

The AI companion

The AI companion is powered by OpenAI and is designed to listen, reflect, and offer support. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care. It does not provide diagnoses, treatment plans, or medical advice of any kind.

If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, the AI companion will direct you to real support resources. Please use them. The AI is not equipped to handle crisis situations and should not be relied on as your only source of support.

Subscriptions

Second Chance requires an active subscription to access the full app. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. Your payment is processed by Apple — we never see or store your payment details.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. To cancel, go to your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Second Chance.

Refunds are handled by Apple. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

If you have subscription issues that are not resolved through Apple, contact us at contact.solaceteam@gmail.com and we will do our best to help.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. This permanently removes all your data from our systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in harmful behavior toward other users, or attempts to misuse or disrupt the app. We will act on this only when necessary and always in the interest of protecting the community.

Limitation of liability

Second Chance is provided as-is. We do our best to keep the app running reliably and to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your use of the app, your reliance on the AI companion, or content posted by other users in the community.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania and the European Union. Any disputes will be handled under Romanian jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

If we make significant changes to these terms, we will notify you within the app. Continued use of Second Chance after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
